Dear Sarah Winnemucca Families,

I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Sarah Winnemucca Elementary School. As both an educator and a parent, I am deeply committed to building a joyful, supportive, and academically rich environment for every student.

With 18 years of experience in education—primarily in special education and leadership—and as a proud parent of three children who are products of the Washoe County School District, I understand firsthand the importance of a school community that nurtures the whole child. I believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and engaged in meaningful learning that sparks their curiosity and creativity.

At the heart of my work is a strong belief in equity over equality—ensuring every student receives what they need to succeed. I am passionate about creating opportunities that allow all children to grow, discover their passions, and reach their fullest potential. My goal is for Sarah Winnemucca to be a place where students, families, and staff feel valued and connected, and where learning is both fun and purposeful.

I believe that education is the most powerful when it’s a true partnership between school and home. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to support your child’s journey—not just as a student, but as a growing individual preparing for a bright future.
